    MO: the Tibetan divination system

The term “mantra” comes from the Sanskrit language and means instrument of thought. For Buddhism and Hinduism, the mantra is a source of spiritual power. The Tibetan oracle provides 36 visions that correspond to the circumstances and events in the life of the querent.

In the Tibetan oracle, each syllable has its own symbolic value. For example, the syllable RA represents power; AH, space; PA, peace; TSA, destruction, and so forth. On the other hand, the Mo system corresponds to the combination of two syllables of the mantra that grant the prediction. Therefore, the order in which the dice are thrown is very important since each face symbolizes a syllable.

The combination RA-AH symbolizes the shining lamp, representing the spirit and one who lends aid, while the combination HA-RA refers to the rays of the sun, understood as the clarification of all things, which is a good omen. In this oracle, it is customary to repeat the mantra 7 times before casting the dice, so it is necessary for the querent to concentrate on the question they wish to ask before the dice are thrown, and then consult the list of prophecies.
