An educational entertainment game based on the symbolic meanings of tarot.

Light or Shadow in Tarot is a learning game about the two ways a card can be expressed. You will see the full card and a specific situation, then decide whether its energy is available and balanced or blocked, avoided or pushed too far.

Light does not mean “good” and shadow does not mean “bad”

An intense card can act through light when it helps you face something honestly. A gentle card can move into shadow when it is idealised, forced or used to avoid a decision. The game does not judge the card; it looks at how the energy is working.

How to play

Read the situation, choose Light or Shadow and check the decisive clue. You will then see how the other side of that same card might sound. Every block contains the same number of light and shadow answers, with no repeated cards.

Three levels using all 78 cards

Clear contrasts uses the 22 Major Arcana and direct expressions. Full deck adds the four suits and court cards. Fine nuance explores the small difference between a well-integrated quality and that same force when it becomes distorted.

624 nuances to practise

The base game contains eight approaches for each of the 78 cards: four light and four shadow. Play ten situations, open a twenty-question study session or continue in free practice. Cards you miss can return later to help you fix the distinction.
