Its tradition reads the hand as a symbolic map: the overall shape speaks of temperament, while the lines represent the movement of energy, thought, affection, and direction. Two similar hands can tell different stories because the combination matters more than any isolated mark.
How to look at your hand before you begin
Rest your arm, relax your fingers, and view the palm in good light. Begin with its complete shape, then find the major lines. They do not need to match the drawings perfectly; always choose the closest general path. Small creases change with use, age, and the skin itself. A sensible reading does not turn every fold into an omen.
The dominant and non-dominant hand
The most common approach compares both hands. The hand you write with represents what you have developed through choices, experience, and habit. The non-dominant hand is associated with original tendencies and less conscious potential. There is no good hand and bad hand: they are two chapters of the same person.
The four lines you will observe
The heart line, beneath the fingers, relates to how you feel and express affection. The head line, across the center, symbolizes your thinking style. The life line curves around the thumb and traditionally speaks of grounding, vitality, and rhythm; it does not measure the length of your life. The vertical line through the center is the fate line. It may be clear, broken, very faint, or absent, and none of those forms is inherently negative.
