The Hidden Arcana is an observation game using all 78 Rider-Waite tarot cards. Every game presents six cards. At first, you see only a small fragment and must recognise the card from four possible answers.

How to play

Choose between the 22 Major Arcana and the full deck. A correct answer on the first image earns 100 points. Open another clue and the reward falls to 60, then 30 points. A wrong answer also reveals a little more of the card.

Two levels for learning the deck

The Major Arcana mode is ideal for starting because its scenes are especially memorable. The full deck adds Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles, asking you to notice objects, colours, numbers and small differences between court cards.

What the score measures

The result combines the points from all six rounds, the number of cards recognised and your longest streak of first-clue answers. Your best score stays only in this browser so that you can try to beat it next time.

This is a game rather than a reading or prediction. The cards are used to train visual memory and become more familiar with Rider-Waite imagery.
