Vedic horoscope: calculate your solar rashi

12 rashis · sidereal zodiac · approximate solar calculation

Discover your solar rashi

Enter your date and we will calculate the Sun’s approximate sidereal position to reveal your sign and its symbolic reading.

  • 1Choose your date
  • 2Calculate the sky
  • 3Meet your rashi

We use the year, month and day. Near a sign transition, the exact birth time may change the result.

Your date is never stored or sent to a server.

The Hindu or Jyotisha horoscope uses a sidereal zodiac. Enter your date to calculate the Sun’s approximate position and receive a complete reading.

What does the app calculate?

We estimate the Sun’s apparent longitude and convert it to the sidereal zodiac with an approximation of Lahiri ayanamsha. The result shows the rashi and approximate solar degree.

Solar ingresses vary slightly from year to year. This makes the calculation more useful than a fixed date table, although it does not replace a complete Jyotisha chart.

Why might it differ from your Western sign?

The common Western zodiac is tropical and begins at the equinox; the sidereal zodiac keeps a fixed reference to the sky. The accumulated separation gives many people the preceding sign.

How to read your result

Read essence, resource and shadow together: the solar rashi is a symbolic key, not a complete description of a birth chart.

This experience is for entertainment and personal reflection; it does not predict events or replace professional, medical or financial decisions.
