The runic tarot builds a bridge between two worlds of divination: the Norse wisdom of the runes and the art of the cards. The signs of the Futhark — Fehu, Uruz, Ansuz and their brothers — come to you here in card form, completed by the special signs of the tradition: forty-one cards in all.
The consultation follows the ritual of casting runes: keep your question in mind and touch the pack. The drawn rune answers with its handed-down meaning — possession and departure, protection and trial, harvest and ice.
For the ancients, the runes were signs received, not invented: Odin himself hung nine nights on the world tree to receive them, the Edda tells. Their answers are accordingly grave and brief — Norse answers, in short.
